Update 2/10/2012 - Hatched our first Ember of the 2012 Breeding Program. This hatchling is a real head turner. Red Eyes. Will post pictures in the near future.

As you can already guess, I love Embers, Snake or Red Eyed. After all I did name this site EmberGecko.com. One of the main reasons I breed and keep Leopard Gecko's was my attachment to my first Ember "Quagmire" pictured on the right and the home page.

He has been a great pet and still to this day his bright Lemon Yellow body color with that totaly White tail are one of my favorites. He has been a great breeder. We do have available Ember Leopard Geckos for sale.

Morph Descrirtion: An Ember is a bright Yellow bodied Leopard Gecko with a White tail. Some may display more or less a brighter Yellow at the base of the tail with the balance of the tail being White. The eyes are either Snake Eyed or Red Eyed. They may come in Normal, Giant or Super Giant sizes.  

History: The Ember was first created by Garrick De Meyer in 2007.

The original morph was created by breeding a RAPTOR (Red Eyed Albino Patternless Tremper ORange) with a Tremper Patternless Albino (TPA).

2012 Breeding Program Goal: Our main goal with our 2012 Ember Breeding Program is to produce a nice group of Giant and Super Giant Embers. We are also hoping to see some interesting morphs as well. For more info see the 2011 Program page.

10.5 inchs long already, this big boy could get real big.

Size: 62 grams as of today 2/16/12, just over 8 months old and gaining weight each month. This big guy has to hit 80 grams for Giant.  Very good chance for Super Giant Weight. This guy has a very long body, and is fairly thin. He should fatten up as he gets older. We had a few just like this last season and they were slow growers also. The father is a large 90g Red Eyed Ember and the mother is a Giant Tremper Patternless Albino Enigma (74g).

Color: He has a very bright yellow body and a clear white tail.  He has solid Red Eyes, that are light in color and you can see darker red snake eyes inside the red of the eyes. Kind of interesting.

Genetics:  Tremper/Embergecko

Special Marks: Red markings on the head.

Comments:  If you are serious about starting an Ember/enigma collection or starting to breed Embers/Enigmas you wont find many as nice as this male. He will make a fine addition to any breeding program or collection. He is an above average example of his Morph Type.

Ember Glow - Super Giant

Size: 82 Grams as of today 2/16/12, just 8 months old and gaining weight each month. He is close to hitting the 80 gram minimum within the first year for Giant, and then he will need to hit 110g for Super Giant.

Color:  He has a bright Tangerine body color with spots of Lavender on his head and neck.  The white bands that you see on the body will fade at about 10 months. He has amazing color and a tendancy to dispaly Lavender. His tail is bright white with orange banding. He has a nice fat long Tail.

Genetics:  Tremper Albino, Giant Ember and Super Giant Sunglows - Bred by Embergecko last year. This hatchling was hatched this season as part of an ongoing Ember Sunglow project. We do plan to offer more of these on our XTreme Albino page next season. We have seen some real big size on these with great temperment to match.

Special Marks: He displays an amazing pattern on his head very simular to a Hot JG Emerine Tangerine. This is one of the hatchlings from the XTreme Albino program, but this male does not carry all the same genetics as the final XTreme Albinos. He is a Ember Giant/SG Sunglow cross, we have bred these for 2 seasons now.

Color:  He has a bright yellow body with white spots outlined in orange, he has an amazing head pattern. His tail is both white and orange. He has a nice fat Tail.

Ember Glow - Super Giant - 95g

Size: 95 Grams as of today 1/14/12, just over 6 months old and gaining weight each month. He has already hit the 80 gram minimum within the first year for Giant and then he will need to hit 110g for Super Giant.

Color:  He has a bright yellow patternless body. The white bands that are present will fade at about 10 months. He has an amazing head pattern and color. it is light Green. His tail is bright white with a small orange carrot tail. He has a nice fat long Tail.

Genetics:  Tremper Albino, Giant Ember and Super Giant Sunglow - Embergecko started this project last year.
